The Role
Our Heathrow branch is now seeking a Senior Warehouse Operative!
You will help lead the daily warehouse operations and support the Regional Manager and Supervisor by ensuring a number of operational tasks are completed safely, on time and to a high standard. You will take responsibility of organising and ensuring required tasks are kept on top of, as well as ensuring we deliver the highest levels of customer service.
Leading the team in receiving deliveries & putting stock away, you will prioritise tasks based on level of importance and urgency and be responsible for ensuring customer orders are picked and loaded onto relevant vehicles in accordance with delivery schedule ensuring customer collection orders are completed in timely manner.
You will take control of bulk stock replenishment and quality control by completing minor rectification work i.e. polishing glass for small defects and take a lead role in maintaining good housekeeping within the warehouse, ensuring that all areas are kept clean, clear and free from hazard or obstruction. All duties are to be performed to the sites Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) where applicable, this includes strict adherence to site and Customer Health & Safety regulations, ensuring all staff are adhering to Health & Safety protocols (PPE always worn, following KSB’s etc).
About You
- Previous experience in a warehouse leadership role.
- Have a full driving licence, including experience of driving a 3.5t vehicle (Mercedes Sprinter/Ford Transit).
- Use initiative to organise tasks in level of priority.
- Be motivated and try to motivate others.
- Good Attention to detail.
- Decide when/what to delegate to others.
- Have a good understanding of SOP’s to be followed and adhered to.
- Have the ability to work effectively as part of a team and be a strong team player.
- Be friendly, polite and approachable.
- Be able to competently carry out duties for a Warehouse Operative.
- An FLT licence is preferred, but not essential.
Salary & Benefits
- 42 hours per week
- Bonus scheme – up to £450 a quarter.
- 28 days holiday per annum, inclusive of public holidays plus an additional holiday for each year of service up to a maximum of 5 years. Additional 1 day for 10 year and 1 day for 20 years of service.
- Group personal pension plan – a defined contribution scheme with Aviva with up to 8% employer contribution.
